From April 12 to 14, the Woomera gallery-agency hosts the exhibition “Soudain la terre me regarde. J’entends son Cri” by Martine Zunini

Martine Zunini, who won an award at the Musée de la Photographie de Charleroi triennial for “Jeunes Russes au bord de la Volga”, successfully presented her latest exhibition last November. Her “Cri de la terre” is a renewed expression of the photographer’s extraordinary sensitivity. Some of her works will be on show at the Woomera gallery-agency, Place de la Vieille Halle aux Blés, 7 – 1000 Brussels.

Zoom on the exhibition

The exhibition “Soudain la terre me regarde. J’entends son Cri” takes us on a two-part journey. First, the artist takes us to Iceland, where glaciers are melting and cracking with a deafening noise, reminding us of the climate emergency weighing on our planet. She then transports us to desert countrieswhere drought reigns, bearing witness to the silent suffering of the earth.

This exhibition is an ode to the fragility of our environment and the urgent need to act to preserve our planet. Through her striking images, Martine Zunini confronts us with the brutal reality of climate change, reminding us of our collective responsibility towards the Earth and its inhabitants.

Martine Zunini's picture

Martine Zunini

Originally from Menton, Martine Zunini is a professional photographer who trained at Septantecinq in Brussels. During her career in various countries, Martine is constantly researching “majesty”: where does it come from, under what circumstances does it appear and why? In her images, she is rarely where you expect her to be.

Martine has photographed cities, interiors, no-man’s-lands, ministers, the disabled, workers, the old, the young, from home and abroad… In particular, she has produced a series of portraits of young Chuvash people on the banks of the Volga (in Cheboksary – Russian Federation). This work won an award at the Charleroi Museum’s triennial “Open Photography” competition in Belgium.
